Sapulpa

It's very exciting to be a part of what God is doing in nursing homes. Many of the residents have not heard some of the old hymns for years. They have not been given the opportunity to corporately worship the Lord. This picture says it all. We continue to travel and minister the good news. Jesus said, "I am come that you might have life!"

Muskogee

This morning there was excitement in the air. It didn't take much for "amen's" and "praise the Lord's" to be heard throughout the room. We praised the Lord for a while and then looked at the verse in Ephesians that says, our feet are to be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. We should be attached to the gospel just like a shoe is shod to a horse. It's not just a convenient gospel but a gospel that becomes part of our life. It's something we must have to run our race. At the close of the service we rededicated our selves to run our race. God still has a plan and a purpose for our lives. It doesn't matter how young or how old we are.

Broken Arrow

It's fun to watch people press in and get closer to God. Many times we can go from day to day without intentionally staying connected to God. For the last several months we have been looking at fighting the good fight of faith. We've been in Ephesians chapter 6 where it says that our feet are to be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. To shod or shoe a horse takes preparation. Both the hoof and the shoe must be prepared. The Word has been prepared but our hearts must also be prepared. When a horse has been shod properly that shoe will never come off on it's own. We must be so connected to the Word that situations and/or circumstances will never throw us from the Word.

As residents were listening you could see them grasping the Truth of God's Word. Excitement and joy was evident. Several years ago the Lord said to me, "I want you to strengthen the saved and save the lost." That's what I am doing in nursing homes all throughout eastern Oklahoma. And, that's what I'm doing today!

Chouteau

Last month I was not able to be at this nursing home. So, it's been a while since we've seen each other. There was joy in the camp when we got together again. Hands were raised as we sang, "Amazing Grace", "Oh, The Blood Of Jesus", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", The activities director has changed again but she was very helpful and ready to continue our schedule.

Okemah

It was a great way to start the week. Even though the activities director was not there today, many of the staff brought residents in. We know that when 2 or 3 are gathered together in His name, He is there. We lifted our hands in worshiped and praised Him.

Okmulgee

Ten years ago I would have never guessed that we would be doing what we are doing today - ministering the Good News of Jesus Christ in nursing care facilities. Over the past several years we have continued to add nursing homes to the schedule until now we are in 36. It requires a full-time traveling schedule and it is well worth it. God continues to move in a very powerful way. We travel over 3,000 miles a month ministering in all 36 facilities each month. Four of the facilities are schedules twice a month.

This morning I was in Okmulgee. I was not on the schedule and as a result there was know one in the room. This is because there is a new activities director and many times scheduling information does not get passed from one to another. I introduced myself and the new directer scurried to bring residents in. (It's going to be great to work with her.) We had a wonderful morning. I showed up, the residents showed up, and God showed up! There is something to be said about persistence in the ministry. If God has truly called you to do something, do it with everything you have.

Muskogee

What a wonderful surprise to see the room full of residents when I walked into the room. They were ready to praise the Lord. We talked about this big word - Salvation. It includes everything we need in this life and the next. At the close of the service a woman raised her hand and said, "Pastor, would you pray with me? I want to make sure I'm born again." Praise The Lord!

Claremore

We spent the morning singing praises to our God, in Claremore. These people love the Lord and they love music. That's a great combination. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of Earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace."

Pryor

Each nursing home has a unique personality. Just like meeting individuals and realizing that every person is different, every nursing home is different. Sometimes nursing homes will cater to certain needs. Because of these differences, many times, how I minister is different. We spend much more time singing in Pryor. Music is a wonderful way to sense the presence of the Lord. The Bible tells us we are to renew our minds to the Word of God. That happens through teaching. But, when the mind is not working as it should we can go straight to the spirit through music. I have witnessed the mind "wake up" as we minister to the Lord through music. Be open to the leading of the Lord as you minister. There are many ways to minister.

Glenpool

As I looked out to the residents and friends who were in the service this morning, I was reminder of those who have left the nursing home to live on their own, yet come back for the service. One woman was healed of cancer and comes back because this is the only "church" she is able to come to. We are looking at the word "salvation". It's a big word. It takes in everything Jesus did for us at the cross. We raised our hands to the Lord and thanked Him for who He is and what He has done.

Muskogee

There has always been something special about Muskogee. I am currently in 3 nursing care facilities and they all have a heart for God. We raised out hands to the Lord and worshiped Him this morning. For a few months now we have been learning how to "fight the good fight of faith". They are becoming fighters. They are learning to take what belongs to them. At the close of the service we rededicated our selves to the Lord and sang "Standing on The Promises of God." When we did, look what happened!

Wilburton

It's always fun to see kids and grand-kids come into the service. It can be a distraction but it's a good distraction. The residents in nursing homes "light up" when they see little kids come in. We took a little bit of time to hug everybody. After they opened up to receive the little ones they were open to receive the Word. We raised our hands to the Lord and worshiped Him. He Is Lord!

Tulsa

This morning was wonderful. Many of the residents began to worship the Lord with uplifted hands and shoutings of praise. (It got pretty wild there for a while.) I was asked to pray for the sick so I went around the room praying for everyone who wanted prayer. We saw some amazing things by the power of God. We have been talking about "Putting on the armor of God and fighting the good fight of faith". Now we are showing it by demonstration. Praise The Lord!

Wagoner

There were several residents and staff who came into the meeting this morning. We raised our hands and praised the Lord. Then, a family member came in with a little child. In nursing homes, that makes all the difference. No matter what is happening a child will take all the attention. That's okay, we had a great time. We talked about having faith in God just like a little child.

Eufaula

There's a new name written down in glory! Wow, what a morning. We had more in the service than I have seen in a long time, both residents, staff, and family members. We sang for most of the time and then looked at John 3:16 and John 14:1-6. "Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life for whosoever believes in Him." At the close of the service another resident accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior - Hallelujah!

Muskogee

It is always a joy to minister at Brentwood. These people always want to hear the Word. Fighting the good fight of faith is a fight. No doubt about it. But, it's a good fight because we are lining ourselves up with the Word of God and the Word never fails. We continue to:

I have never had someone grab me and pull so hard they pulled me over. Well, It happened this morning. There are those who may not look very pleasing. They may not be so attractive and as a result they do not get the attention they need. Everyone needs the love of God. So, everyone will receive the love of God this morning, this afternoon, tomorrow, and the next day, etc. We continue to: Strengthen The Saved - Save The Lost, in nursing care facilities throughout eastern Oklahoma.
