Warner/Fort Gibson

It's been a wonderful day of ministry. Both facilities brought in a lot of residents. In the last month I have been much more focused on a phrase the Lord put in my heart 9 years ago - "Strengthening The Saved - Saving The Lost." I am starting to explain to everyone, at the start of the service, why I am there. I say, If you are a believer, If you have excepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, I am here to strengthen you and encourage you in the Word. If you are not a believer, I am here to explain what Jesus did for you and how you can come into the family. Then, I want to say "Welcome Home!" We are see more results! Praise The Lord!

Tahlequah/Stilwell

"Light shining in darkness." That's what I kept sensing this morning. As I walked into the nursing home in Tahlequah I realized I had options how I could look at things. I could look at the darkness: sickness, disease, problems. Or, I could look at the light: health, healing, wholeness, the answer. Darkness is looking back. Light is looking forward. This morning we looked to the light - Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Everyone in the room wanted prayer for themselves plus prayer for their friends who were in their rooms because of sickness. There is enough healing power in just one verse to heal everyone on the planet. "Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover", so I did. Praise the Lord! Now, it's on to Stilwell.

Eufaula/Wetumka

This morning we had a large group. I noticed there were several who were dealing with memory issues. We do live in a world of decay. So, let's fight the good fight of faith. The Bible says in 2 Cor. 4:4, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." Satan is the god of this world. The Good News is we don't have to live on that level. To enter this higher level is to: 1) Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. 2) Discover the promises of God, found in the Bible. 3) Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the promises. 4) Never quit, never stop believing!  (That's what I ministered on this morning.) After the service residents started singing the hymns and then carrying on sensible conversations. Praise the Lord!

Nursing Home Ministries Update - February 2108

Muskogee/Tahlequah

Both this morning and this afternoon I have been overwhelmed by the love of God. I can see it in the eyes of the residents. As we sing and as I preach tears well up in their eyes. We are reaching to the very heart and soul of these people. The Bible says, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit. . ." Heb. 4:12. We are traveling in a 75 mile radius around the Tulsa area, ministering in 38 nursing care facilities.

Sapulpa/Stillwater

It's always exciting to go into an area the Lord has been preparing ahead of time. As I entered this facility, in Sapulpa, and spoke to the activities director, I heard her say; they have only been open for a few months. And, she has been praying for someone to come to provide a church service for the residents. It was a perfect fit. I will be starting in this new facility next month. This facility is a Senior Mental Health unit. This is the second mental health unit I'm in. We are expanding!

Inola/Vinita

It's so good to see family of residents come to visit at the same time we are having service. (They sit together through the service and then visit afterwards.) What a great way to care for family. Today we are talking about covenant in relation to the family of God. It is so comforting to know that through Christ we can know that we have eternal life - 1 John 5:13.

Barnsdall/Fairfax

It's always a thrill for me to see residents get excited about the Bible, get excited about Jesus. This morning that's what happened in Barnsdall. We lifted our hands to the Lord and then looked at more verses that show us who we are in Christ. Now it's on to a brand new work in Fairfax.

Tulsa/Pawnee

As I was ministering this morning, looking out over the residents, I realized we have an army of prayer warriors in these nursing homes we've never tapped in to. Many of them are alone and feel they have nothing to offer. That's really not true. What if the "Church" tapped into this army of prayer warriors? What if the local churches used residents in their local nursing homes to become a part of the great end-time harvest? What if we trained "Prayer Technicians" to pray in agreement with the local church and bring in the end-time harvest? This thought really got me excited!

Henryetta/Okmulgee

We had new people this morning. It's always exciting to see new people come in. We lifted our hands and hearts to the Lord this morning. We are looking at "In Him" scriptures. We are discovering: who we are, what we have, and what we can do, in Christ. It doesn't matter if you are in or out of a nursing home this is exciting information. Now it's on to Okmulgee.
