Muskogee

Of all the nursing homes I go to, East Gate Village is consistently the largest service. This morning was no exception. I remember, years ago, meeting in much smaller rooms. Construction moved us to this larger room. We filled it up and never left. This morning we looked at the rapture of the Church. Something no one should miss. We read it in 1 Thessalonians 4 and then found it in the time line of Revelation and got really excited. 1 Thessalonians 4 says, "The Lord Himself shall descend with a shout." (About then is when WE started to shout.) There's so much to say about this, we could be on it for a while. Residents, staff, and friends love to come and sit in on the service. Jesus Is Lord!

Broken Arrow

There have been many residents, in several of the facilities, asking about the last days, the end times. Today, we opened the book of Revelation. Many people are afraid or in fear of the future, the unknown. The book of Revelation is a book of hope and encouragement if you are a believer. When you minister the book of Revelation you don't have to stop ministering Good News. At the end of the service residents were excited about their future. We continue to: Strengthen The Saved - Saved The Lost.

Inola

It was so good to be in Inola again. There are precious people in nursing homes who never have visitors or family come to visit them. We are out to change that. It is God's desire that everyone accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and come into the family of God. Oh, what a family. You'll never be lonely again. There were hugs all around the room. Residents and staff love to come into the service and praise the Lord. We continue to minister with the focus to: Strengthen The Saved - Save The Lost.

I was taken back at the passion I saw in the residents this morning. They truly love the Lord. Hands were in the air and tears on their cheeks as they sang the wonderful truths found in so many of the hymns. Several residents ,from many different facilities, have been asking about Bible prophecy and the last days. Today we started looking at Revelation chapter 1. What a blessing to know the goodness of God in the last days. Jesus Loves His Church!

We had a wonderful time of singing this morning. It just seemed like those who came, wanted to sing. So, we sang about our wonderful Lord - Blessed Assurance, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, How Great Though Art, etc. This is their time. This is when they came come together and worship Him. Jesus Is Lord!

Tulsa

The Oklahoma Methodist Manor is very big and very nice. We always have a good time there. Many of the  residents are gathered from different halls and different locations and brought to one place. Today, the residents started talking about "Being Thankful". We certainly do have a lot to be thankful about. We are thinking on Good Things.

Strengthening The Saved - Saving The Lost

This group is growing. I've been here a few times now and we are getting to know each other. This time they were in the room and waiting for me before I got there. That's a good sign. If you didn't know where this facility was, you'd never see it. It's not where you would just happen to drive by going through town. And, that is true with a lot of the nursing care facilities. As I was leaving, the big question was, "When are you coming back?" :)

Statistics say that 60% of residents will not have family or friends come to visit. I realize, nursing homes are not fun or necessarily comfortable places to be. However it is where many of our family and friends end up. Statistics also say that a very low percentage of residents accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I don't find that to be true. Many residents are already Christians and I find that the closer non-Christians get to eternity the more they realize the need for a savior. Consider the nursing home ministery. Either visit a local nursing home or support someone who does.

We continue to pursue the Love of God found in John 3:16. He is a giver. He gave His best gift, Jesus! At the close of the service we all prayed a prayer of salvation and re-dedication. We are advancing the Kingdom of God.

This is my 4th time at Brookdale and we are settling in. That's a good thing. They are getting to know me and I am getting to know them. For the past few days we have been looking at John 3:16. If anybody knows a verse it seems like it's that one. We are becoming more secure in who we are in Christ or coming into the family. Several years ago, when I was getting ready to start the nursing home ministry, I was told older people were set in their ways. If they haven't excepted Christ by now, they won't. First of all, it's not all older people in nursing homes. Anyone, at any age, that needs full-time nursing care is there. Second, When older people begin to see the edge of eternity, they are ready to look to God. Traveling the roads of eastern Oklahoma, "Strengthening The Saved - Saving The Lost."
