Sapulpa

It's Friday and we just had another great morning. The activities director came in to sing with us. It was wonderful. As I would suggest the next song to sing, the residents would finish the title. They were very excited to sing. Some of these songs they had not sung for years. It brought back many good memories. We may be from many diverse backgrounds but we believe in the God of the Bible. We are family.

Muskogee

Hands were raised all over the room this morning as we sang praises to God. I started the message by reading John 15:7 "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." We were looking at "Receiving From God." After the service I always shake hands with everyone and pray with those that want prayer. A woman said, she heard the piano start to play but she had not gotten out of bed yet because she had a headache and was dizzy. She wanted to come to the service. So, she said, "Lord, you said, by whos strips ye were healed. I could us some of that right now and I got up!" Now that's what I'm talking about. God's promises is God's will. Let's act on it.

Broken Arrow/Cleveland

I've been here a hand full of times now and we are getting to know one another quit well. We had a great morning service. We looked at: Receiving From God. I could tell some of the residents had never heard it quit like this before. We've all heard this phrase - I'll believe it when I see it. Jesus says, Believe it first and then you will see it. One woman shouted out, "You have not because you ask not." She was right on. After the service she asked me if that was okay or if should she not speak up? I thought it was great. I told her to go right ahead. We continue to: Strengthen The Saved - Save The Lost.

Cleveland
This afternoon was a wonderful time. It seemed evident many of these songs had not been song for a long time. They new them. And, they sang them. But, it was a very emotional time. It definitely brought back many good memories.

Chouteau

I am so glad we moved to the lunch room. We have continued to grow since then. Our hands were in the air once again as we praised the Lord. There is life in the Word. Many of the old hymns have the Word in them - Oh, the blood of Jesus - Oh, how I love Jesus - Standing on the promises. We were pressing into the Love of God this morning, and receiving.

Okemah

We raised our hands in worship to our wonderful Lord and Savour. The residents had just come from exercise class. Now we are going to exercise our spirit man.

We looked at the secret To life: 1.Be Born-again. 2.Be Filled. 3. Be led.

Life changes dramatically when you operate this way. We will never be the same!

Okmulgee

There are times when things don't work out the way you'd like them too. When I showed up at Okmulgee, I noticed right away, there were no residents in our meeting area. After I set up and started playing the hymns the room was still empty. I looked for the activities director and heard she was on vacation. Then, I noticed the wall calendar showed me to be here last week not this week. As the music continued to play there were some residents who came in. Eventually we started the service. It was a little shorter than normal but good.
Persistence is one of the things we are talking about. We must be persistent in the Lord. When you know what the Lord has called you to do, don't quit, don't give up, be persistent.

Muskogee

I am sitting in a McDonald's in Tahlequah. On two different occasions I have had people come to me telling me someone in their family had past away. Once in the nursing home in Muskogee and once her in McDonald's. What I find significant with both situations is that they were Christians. Their families knew where their loved ones were and they knew they would see them again. The Bible says, "Oh grave where is thy victory, Oh death where is thy sting." As a Christian there is victory both in life and in death. If you do not know Him, you can know Him Today.

Caremore

It's always so much fun, and fulfilling, to see smiles come on the faces of the residents and staff. We had a great group this morning. There were residents and staff but we also had friends and visiting family members. Many of them thanked me for coming. There are not that many "programs" that come into the nursing homes, especially ministry programs. The staff is very grateful. The majority of residents were able to sing the hymns without song sheets. When they start remembering these words then they begin to remember other things. This is a memory unit. It's exciting to see how the Lord can stir their minds.

There's a new name written down in Glory! We began to sing several of the old blood songs. With each song that we sang a woman began to cry harder and harder. After the second or third song I went to see if I could help. I could. She needed a Savour! Then, there was joy in the camp. We continue to share the good news!

Glenpool

It's a dark and cool morning. Many of the residents were still sleeping, in their rooms. We had half of the normal crowd. Not a lot different than regular churches. Sometimes it doesn't take much for people to stay home. There is something to be said for those who press into God when the flesh doesn't feel like it. Today, we started looking at "The Three P's that will keep you on the top in these Last Days" - Protection, Power, and Persistence. We raised our hands to the Lord as we praised Him. He is our Protection and Power. Let's Persist with a Bulldog faith to Go where He sends and Do what He says.

Stigler

This week has been nursing home week. So, there have been many extra activities in the nursing homes. Something I have noticed is the recognized importance of these services. The residents and staff can see the change in peoples lives because of the Love of God. There have not been any other activities overlapping during my time.
This morning we had an ol' fashion singspiration. There are times when you just want to sing. It brought in a continual stream of people. there were many who came in sad but left with a smile on their face. God is so good!

Muskogee

Fellowship is so important in the body of Christ. It's important to spend time together sharing in the good things of God. We raised our hands to the Lord and thanked Him for all that He has done for us. He is so Good! By the end of the service we were "stirring the pot." I shared a story about how some of those good memories of God can settle to the bottom of our thought life. It's time to stir them back up again. I asked the question, "How many here feel the need to rededicate yourself to the Lord." Virtually every hand in the room went up. We closed in prayer telling the Lord we were going to press into Him more than ever before. Praise The Lord!

Wilburton

I must say, we had quit an exciting morning. There is a new Administrator at Tidwell Living Center. She is a Preachers daughter who knows how to play the piano. She came out of her office and said, "Can I play for you?" (I always hesitate because you never really know what you're going to get.) She is extremely good! We had a wonderful time. This nursing home is very blessed to have her.
We looked at "The Secret To Life." 1.Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. 2.Listen to Him. 3.Do what He says. It's really quite simple unless your stubborn and only willing to do your own thing. Yes Lord, we will follow You!

Tulsa

I was very surprised and excited to see David Momquist this morning. He met me at the door to MapleWood Care Center in Tulsa. We had a great service. There were approx. 8 residents who rededicated their lives to the Lord. We prayed with the residents and then I asked, "How many would like a Bible?" And to that, I went out to the car to distribute 4 Bibles. Now, it's off to Bartlesville. Thanks David.

When you interact with people for a living you run into all types of situations. This morning a resident had just talked about committing suicide before I got there. She was in the service and being watched. I didn't realize any of this until after the service. At the close I asked if anyone needed a Bible. She raised her hand. I went out to the car and gathered several Bibles to distribute and then sat down to talk with her. She was with some staff so we all had a chance to talk together. I remember her saying, her family has struggled with suicide and some have actually carried it out. She said, "I know the Bible will help me. God loves me and that's what I need to hear." God does love us. He is the way, the truth, and the life, in any and every situation we face.

Eufaula

We haven't had this many people for a while - residents, staff, and family. It's always such a joy to lead people into the presence of the Lord. Many of the residents who seemed to be staring and not communicating came alive as we pressed into the Lord. We continue to:

Muskogee

There was excitement in the room before I got there. I like that. The staff was bringing in residents, getting ready for the service. Hands went into the air as we magnified the name of Jesus. We are looking at "The Secret Of The Lord." God hides things for us. He does not hide things from us. If we seek we will find. If we knock it will be opened. After the service hugs were in order. Being a resident can be very lonely. We can't get to many hugs. :)

We lifted our hands to the Lord this morning and praised Him. I met a woman who's husband is dealing with lung cancer. We held hands and prayed together that God's healing power would flow through His body. He is already taking chemo so we prayed that the chemo would seek and destroy every cancer cell in his body. We give all the praise to our good God!

Tahlequah

We were stirred up in our faith this morning. I ministered: 1.Turn to God 2.Hear what He says 3.Do it! Brother Roberts said it like this, "Hear from God. Don't confer with man. Get it done whatever the cost." Mary said, "What ever He says to you, do it!" We got stirred up.
I handed out several Bibles but more were needed. I'll bring more next time. We continue to lift up the name of Jesus.

Glenpool

All to often, as we get older, especially living in a nursing care facility, we think God is through with us. We feel either there is nothing left to do or we are not capable of doing what God wants done. That is not true. As long as we are on this side of heaven, God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. It doesn't matter how young or how old we are. Today, we looked at God's secret to life.

Ps 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. KJV

When we continue to honor and worship Him He shows us His covenant. He shows us things to come. Then, we can become a part of those things to come. Mary said it like this.

John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."

If we Believe in Him then let's listen to Him. When we listen to Him He will speak. When He speaks do what He says. That is the secret to life. Be a doer of the Word!
