Chouteau/Vinita

It's wonderful to see how residents are cared for in Chouteau. I met a daughter who drives 7 hours at least once a month to see her mother. There was also a caregiver who came in to sit with a resident she cares for regularly. This is in addition to the regular care they are given form the local staff. They are blessed! As we sang the hymns there were several who began to cry. They said it brought back so many good, good memories. We continue to spread the Good News of a Good God. We are "Strengthening The Saved & Saving The Lost"

Okmulgee/Muskogee

This writing is a little different because I am writing about yesterday afternoon's service and this morning's service.
Yesterday in Okmulgee I was overwhelmed at the response to the message. The residents were thrilled to know that God still has a plan and purpose for their lives. That they can run a strong race all the way to the finish line. That when you begin to see the finish line you don't slow down but press into the finish. after the service, no one wanted to leave. These types of messages are not given much in nursing homes but residents want to hear it. It is where they are. They want to hear, "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
This morning we were all out in sing mode. As soon as we started singing the atmosphere went up a notch or two. The residents were excited to sing praises to their master and Lord. So, we just stayed right there and sang for an hour. Praise the Lord!

Broken Arrow/Okmulgee

This morning I noticed quite a lot of responses from the music. Several of the residents were crying during some of the specials I was singing. Many were moved to rededicate themselves to the Lord. After the service, I spoke with a speech therapist who works there every day. She said therapists can get a master's degree in music therapy; it is so powerful. I have seen residents moved by the music everywhere I go but I did not realize the medical field and educational field understood that. I am coming at it from the spiritual side. The Bible is Truth. It's exciting to know that the Word of God is always up to date and relevant for today. Now I'm off to Okmulgee.

Muskogee/Tahlequah

Some people seem to be automatically sad when they hear that my mom went to heaven. I don't think that's what they hear. I think they hear, "mom died". In other words, she is no more. And, that's just not true. The Apostle Paul said, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and forever will we be with the Lord." If you have a strong belief in heaven it should be a wonderful climax to an amazing life. On this earth, we are walking a path. We are running a race. Let's run it strong. I am sharing the message that you can know that Jesus is your savior and Lord. You can also know that heaven is your home. When they see that I am not sad it becomes reassuring to them. Yes, Jesus is Lord and Heaven Is our Home!

Claremore/Nowata

Today is a music day. Considering the facilities I minister in on this day music works the best. At the end of the service, a staff member asked, "How's your mom?" (This is where it began. The story of mom going to heaven.) She continues to be a witness for the Lord even after running her race for 102 years.

Barnsdall/Bartlesville

It was a great morning. As I was driving to Barnsdall I could tell the Lord was wanting me to give a message different than I had planned. That used to frustrate me. Now I get excited. While we were singing the first two hymns I pulled out my Bible and started putting little tabs on the pages I knew I needed to talk about - Ephesians 2, John 14, and Hebrews 12. We are shouting about the goodness and faithfulness of a loving God.

Muskogee

With the passing of my Mom to heaven; I have heaven on my mine. I talked about heaven all morning. I saw many residents with tears however they were tears of joy. Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for YOU." Praise The Lord!

Muskogee/Hastell

This morning we sang of the glorious majesty of our loving God - Amazing Grace, Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know, Are You Washed In The Blood, etc. There are so many people in these facilities who do not get regular visits. Hugs and smiles were in order this morning. We continue to spread the good news that Jesus Is Lord!

Tulsa/Bristow

This morning was my first service for 2020. Of course, everywhere I go people ask me, "How's your mom?" When I told them, over the holidays she moved to heaven, they got a really sad face. But my face was/is not sad. She ran her race well at 102 years old. She is in heaven and I will see her again. We lifted up the name of Jesus in memory of her life. 2020 is going to be an amazing year. We are more focused than ever before. Jesus Is Lord! Now I'm on to Bristow.
